Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a warm and humid tropical climate, so this condition supports the growth and spread of mites that cause scabies. Scabies is a skin disease that is often found in livestock and pets in Indonesia and tends to be difficult to cure. Scabies is a disease that attacks the skin and is caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. Sarcoptes scabiei is an ectoparasite that commonly attacks cats. These mites live on the skin by making tunnels in the stratum corneum and living their lives there. Scabies is a zoonotic disease, so if a pet is infected with scabies it is best to receive intensive treatment immediately. This practical work will be carried out on January 8 - February 8 2024, at the UPTD Animal Health Center, Sungai Penuh City. The research method is by collecting cat patient data through direct observation and carrying out actions and treatment by Veterinary Medical Officers. The number of scabies cases at the UPTD Animal Health Center in Sungai Banyak in the interval 8 January - 8 February after observing a total of 65 patients.
